Me: 25
DH: 28

Hi everyone!! My name is Bri & I’m new to this… so please bare with me lol

I was diagnosed w/PCOS about 10 yrs ago… I’m recently married to my DH of 6 yrs & we want to ttc… I feel like the longer I wait the more messed up my cycles get and the more worried I get about bein able to concieve naturally… I had my first miscarriage Aug 2010, I was no more than 3 wks… but I knew… So, this brings me here. My doc said all my labs look great, cept that my thyroid count is high?? I’m guessing because of my PCOS… and they want me to drop off my DH ‘party bag’ off tomorrow morning to run analysis on him. Then I have a pergesterone shot on mon ( 11-21st) then my cycle should start around 11/26-28th… Then he wants me to take Clomid days 5-9… I’ve read that some women take 3-7 or 5-9 whats the difference?? & It would be great if I could get pregnant the first try  Hope to hear from a few of you & maybe make new friends here in central Tx

:welcome: Breezy! I hope you find these boards as helpful and informative as I have.

I’m also a PCOSer with thyroid issues. Are you taking anything for either? If not, I’d definitely talk to your doctor or an endocrinologist about Metformin and Synthroid. Metformin will help with the PCOS and Synthroid will help regulate your thyroid. Some ladies respond very well to Metformin and that is the only med they need to kick their hormones into gear so they get their BFP. Unfortunately, I wasn’t one of those lucky ladies, but maybe you are so I’d highly recommend asking about it.

I stop taking bcps Thanksgiving Day so hopefully CD1 will be shortly after and I can start my next round in early December…so we won’t be too far apart in our cycles. Hope you have a great 1st round!

Yep, the prog shot will induce your period. In the past I’ve typically taken 10 days of Provera to induce mine, but I’d prefer the shot - it works quicker.

It sounds like you’re doing timed intercourse (TI). Are you going through an obgyn or a fertility specialist? Most obgyns don’t do the follicle monitoring - they just tell you when to take clomid and on what days to do TI. The blood work a week after the TI is to check your progesterone level, which will indicate whether or not you ovulated. If you did, they’ll probably ask you to come back in another week for a beta to see if you’re pregnant. If you didn’t ovulate or you’re not pregnant, the doc might increase your dosage, then the ride starts all over again!

If you have any questions, feel free to send them my way. I’m still relatively new in the grand scheme of the IF world, but I’m a big research freak so I’ll help in any way I can.

I’m doing timed intercourse… Except my re maps out what days we need to… :). Made it a lot easier for me. I also did an hcg trigger shot… Are you soon that to? I won’t start clomid again until December due to a 4.1 cm cyst. Best of luck
