First month taking Femera

#1

This is my first month taking Femera and I am excited about it! I took Clomid for 14 cycles, one with IUI, with no success and did HMG injections for 3 months, two with IUI, with no success. We were going to do another round of HMG but the trigger shots are backordered. **** people doing these HCG diets have bought them all! So I suggested this and my doctor agreed! Finally! So has anyone heard of any success stories with Femera? And what side effects have you experienced with it? Clomid always made me release two eggs but my cervical mucous was hostile as a side effect so Im hoping this doesn’t happen with Femera.:babydust: :babydust: :babydust:

Hi!

For me, Femara is MUCH better than clomid. I had a lot of side effects with Clomid, but my ovaries never responded to it. I am actually on a combo cycle with Femara and then Gonal-F and Repronex at the end of the cycle. When just taking the pills I do not have any side effects, but the shots do add a few.

I usually only get one good follie, and have only had one cycle that yielded more than that. It is my understanding that the cervical mucus issues, and also the lining issues that some ladies experience while on Clomid are not normally problems with Femara.

Good luck on this cycle! When do you start? :flower:

Hello,

Good Luck Ladies!!! I believe letrozole is a great alternative to those who saw no/minimal success with clomid and for myself I thought it was MUCH better tolerated.

In 2009 I was diagnosed with PCOS/anovulatory and tried clomid also for several cycles and had awful side effects from it - even OHSS. So my OBGYN referred me to a RE and he started me on Letrozole w/ovidrel injection and after 2 cycles (with VERY minimal side effects - much better than clomid) we got our BFP!! So needless to say we LOVE letrozole  Now, we have decided it is time for us to expand our family of #3 to hopefully #4  Our appt with our RE is a week from today and we are so excited - I am hoping we have as great of an experience with letrozole as we did last time :cross:

Glad to hear a success story! I actually had a lot of EWCM last night so we  ! We never had EWCM with Clomid even though we ovulated. So I’m more excited today than I have been in the last year and a half! I pray we all get our :bfp: very soon!

I saw you also have PCOS…Are you seeing an infertility specialist too? I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2008 as well but for me I always knew something was wrong and I would need help conceiving because I pretty much NEVER get :af: unless it is stimulated with meds. So in addition to PCOS (or maybe as a result of the PCOS) they also diagnosed me as anovulatory. So from the moment I went to the RE he told me I would need a med to help me develop good mature follicles and also a med to induce ovulation…but on the positive side he did tell me of all the reasons to have problems conceiving he see the most success with PCOS patients - so hopefully that gives you a little bit of a boost!

All this fertility business is so frustrating and sometimes it can just get the best of you…that is one reason I have loved this forum throughout my journey! It seems like those that have never gone through it will never fully understand (even your best of friends) and for me it always seemed like the “infertility” talk always made them a little uncomfortable so this was definitely a nice place for me!

I am seeing an OBGYN but he is known as the man to see around here to get pregnant. I have known I was insulin resistant but didn’t know why I couldn’t get pregnant. I have always had a period, rarely was ever on birth control, I just knew it was something. This site has been a blessing. The support and info. gained is priceless!

No, no IUI, but I had good cervical mucous so I am sure we have a good chance. The one time we did have good cervical mucous we got pregnant. So I’m really excited!

Hi,
I’m new to Letrozole (Femara) too. I previously tried clomid for about 3 cycles with no luck. I have also done injectables and got frustrated and just needed a break. I have noticed some changes in the cervix positioning and I can see where my mucus is starting to become more stretchy. I also have noticed stomach twitching/contractions (I hope that means the my ovaries are being stimulated). I go back to the RE for an 11 day ultrasound to check the ovary response tommorrow. I hope I receive some good news.

Best of luck to you ladies! I had horrible side effects from Clomid too, made the switch to Femera and it worked for me! I actually just got an Rx to start next month for baby #2. Hope it works for me again too:):babydust: :babydust: :babydust:

Good luck!!! Can’t wait to hear if it was successful. It worked for me on month #3…unfortunately we miscarried and I had a d/c November 29th. I just started Femara again today

Hello nursejessica.
Just popping in too say a hello to you an see how things are going with you. Femara can make you have sore ()() LOL… Femara can do different things at times but hey at least it works… I’ll keep my FX that you get a BFP this time around. I’ll keep checking in on you.

AFM: Time not going by fast enough too get started again. DH had go to his doctor yesterday to get more antibiotics for the creepy crap he has. Then he had his blood draw to have his sugar, clostoreol, Liver, testosterone level check an a few other things. his levels are good. We will get his results in Friday too see how all is. We’ll be taking his testosterone results his specialist in March too see how DH is doing on his Clomid. We’re planning on have a SA done close too end of Feb too check his swimmers see if improved an me I go back on Femara in Feb after AF shows up again. :cross: Then if all is good after his specialist visit then we will be going to RE in later part of March too start things once again an maybe changing meds too just have to wait but for now things are going so darn slow I want to cry but not yet as got a female goat getting ready to kid so that helps me some but at night when alone I feel so depressed as I can’t make time go no faster.

Sorry this is long forgive me.
Forgot to add I ordered my DH more of his vitmains an I ordered me a combo of Ovulation tests an HPT… So can be ready in March I really hope.

I got sore breast right after I O’d this month… I’m in my two week wait now… I’m O late all the time (usually at day 20) so I can’t go by the cycle day your’re on to tell you for sure… This month I’m on CD26 and I have really sore BB, metalic taste in my mouth, constipation (sorry if TMI) and twingy/painful spasms in my lower abdomen… Hoping it’s not all in my head b/c I want it so much! LOL! that it works out for both of us (and everyone else in this cycle) and that we get a :bfp: !!!

This is my first month on femara w/ trigger shot. Today is 13 dpo and Ive been testing everyday since like 10 dpo cuz I always hear those stories of early :bfp: …But of course I still have a :bfn: so feeling discouraged…Havent had any symptoms at all…not even any symptoms from femara, trigger shot or the progesterone suppositories that Im on…Almost makes me feel like nothing is working! :grr: This process can be so frustrating and time seems to just creep by…Im ready to ditch this cycle already and bring on the next to try again! Good luck to everyone else out there in their 2WW…Wishing you all :babydust: and patience!!
