Flushing tubes to get rid of fluid???????

Has anyone heard of this? I am scheduled for a transfer next wed and had an u/s today and they found fluid in a tube and said it either needs to be removed or flushed but the flushing may not work? is this basically small terms for a bad tube and ewhy? and casn i still ever get prego? thoughts please???f

Sounds like a hydrosalpinx.

As for “flushing?” Are they talking about doing a HSG? Sometimes a Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) can sort of “open” the tube when the fluid or dye is pushed through.

If the tube is diseased or has a hydrosalpinx, then the best option is to sometimes remove it. Especially if there’s scar tissue. If that’s the case, then you’d be risking a failed cycle.
