Help understanding a SA

#1

Hi, this is my first post on here, so some background : DH and I have been ttc since July 2010, I am now 27, DH is 34.

We both just went in and got some tests done. Mine were all normal, yay for me! DH not so much :frowning: the doctor was very busy, and has a very thick accent so it was hard to understand her. We live in a small town, and now we have our referral for more tests.

So the SA:

Appearance, Liquefaction and Viscosity were all normal

Test. Results. Reference range. Unit
pH. 8.0. 7-8. pH
Volume. 2.0. >=2.0. ml
Motility. 10. %
Grade. 1to2
Nonprogressive - slow forward progress

               Motility Reference Range
               >50% with forward progression/1hr
               >25% with rapid forward progression/1hr

Count. <1. L. >=20. X10E6/ml
Normal forms. 1. L. >14. %

From who I see it, very low motility, but what is the count ??? Please help! Very confused and won’t be seeing the specialist for at least a month!

Thanks!

Jaime

Test. Results. Reference range. Unit
pH. 8.0. 7-8. pH normal ok
Volume. 2.0. >=2.0. ml volume normal but 2ml is lower limit

Motility. 10. %
Grade. 1to2
Nonprogressive - slow forward progress

               Motility Reference Range
               >50% with forward progression/1hr
               >25% with rapid forward progression/1hr

Count. <1. L. >=20. X10E6/ml less than 1 Million
as i understand
Normal forms. 1. L. >14. %

go to urologist
this is similar to my case if less than 1 million, it very serious
check

1-Scrotal ultrasound for varicocele
2-genetics chromosome analysis

3-hormone levels t , fsh , lh , prl

Condition T FSH LH PRL http://www.theturekclinic.com/images/rule.gif Normal NL NL NL NL Primary Testis Failure Low High NL/High NL Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism Low Low Low NL Hyperprolactinemia Low Low/NL Low High Androgen Resistance High High High NL

Good luck to you!

welcome

Thanks jaime
best wishes 4 u both.

but take quick action , as you have two wait 3 months for every SA to see if the medication or surgery works.

so lots of waiting time which really tough and keeps u thinking with lot of what if scenarios.

also IVF-ICSI is expensive in most countries as i noticed
thank god in my country is reasonable (2000usd with medication)
