India Surrogacy ..?

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I’m a wannabe father here (in US) looking to find a gestational surrogate mother in India. Primarily for cost reasons. Anyone have any comments, suggestions?

Hi! I cannot be of much help here. I mean things regarding surrogacy in India. But you may find the costs quite affordable in ukraine, for example. Here one thing is vital just before starting to consider. Whether you’re married or single. Under ukrainian law only married heterosexual couple can apply for surrogacy. After you sign the contract with your surrogate she has zero rights for the future baby. It’s considered to be yours from the moment of conception. The surro cannot claim any rights. The birth certificate is issues with the names of the IP. I know the clinic which guides through all the stages of the process. Up to the exit stage and the day you leave the country with your baby in hands. Then costs there vary from 40k to 50k euros depending on the program. Here you should evaluate the services offered well. For example some packages offer you can be present at delivery or live with your baby in a separate room at the maternity house. Or those giving you unlimited number of attempts. Or guaranteed refund in case you face the treatment plan failure. Quite a plenty of useul options! I’d recommend investigating more. Good luck!!

Hey there! In Ukraine you may expect sums from EUR 39k up to 51k. Here’s a couple of things~
All-inclusive Standard €39900:
You will be provided a cellphone with a Ukrainian carrier for communication.
You will stay at a villa or hotel.
Donor eggs if needed.
Pics of the scans.
Translator and legal advisor.
A pediatrician will see your child every other day after birth.
Regardless of how far along the surrogate is, if the case of miscarriage, abortion, or death of child, the agency will take care of the cost of paying the surrogate and finding a new one.
In case your baby is born premature, the agency will pay all medical fees regardless.
If you have twins, you must pay an additional €3000 after birth.
You will have 4 hours of nursery and babysitting services available to you every day.
You cannot be at the birth of the baby. You will be able to meet your baby after the hospital clears the baby for leaving the hospital.

All-inclusive VIP €49900:
You will be provided a cellphone with a Ukrainian carrier for communication.
You will stay in a standard room at the Venice Hotel or a luxury apartment for the first two visits, and on your final visit, you will stay in a bigger suite that specially equipped for babies (I’m assuming this means a crib, but am not certain).
You’ll receive a Newborn Package that includes all the things you’ll need when you start to take care of the baby.
You will receive PGD services, which helps eliminate poor embryos and also allows for gender selection.
A pediatrician will see your child every day, and there is also a 24/7 hotline for English-speaking Pediatricians, who can come visit you at any time if necessary.
Regardless of how far along the surrogate is, if the case of miscarriage, abortion, or death of child, the agency will take care of the cost of paying the surrogate and finding a new one.
In case your baby is born premature, the agency will pay all medical fees regardless.
If you have twins, there is no additional fee.
You will have 9am – 6pm nursery and babysitting services available to you every day.
You may attend the birth of your baby.
The surrogate contract defines the joint agreement between the intended parents, surrogate, and clinic. There is some confusion because upon the first reading, you might see that you are responsible for paying the surrogate €200 euros a month, but that actually comes out of the package fee, so the clinic will make those payments for you. So you shouldn’t be be alarmed!
Some of them can be a bit confusing. but the clinic will be more than happy to explain anything that you have a question about. Also note that the contracts are subject to change every few months. as the business grows. So depending on when you read this post, it would be good idea to go to their website and get the latest copy there. Hope this helps.

I’d recommend looking onto ukrainian clinic Biotex com. It works for results. I’m not mentioning here high success rates. but high birth rates within different programs performed there. Here are the ideas why: It’s affordable. it’ll cost you around 30 - 50 k euros depending on the number of shots you choose. It offers ‘‘baby guarantee’’ or money refund. You can use donor egg for no additional fee if you need. they screen your surrogate mother for no additional fee. You’re provided accomodations, transportations and meals. You get all needed legal support. You get an interpreter and a traslator in the run of the whole program. Med staff guide you from the initial and up to the exit stage of the process. Short waiting time frames. I’d definitely study this more accurately. GL!

In Ukraine the costs are the most favourable. Variations between estimates will depend basically on the surrogacy program you choose. For example, low cost programs typically include just one IVF attempt, without using donor eggs. When the cost is $40k-50k, they usually include additional techniques such as PGD, and unlimited embryo transfers until the gestational carrier gets pregnant. As for the payment to the surrogate, according to law, the total sum should be fixed by agreement of the parties. Normally the contract price is comprised of two parts: A reimbursement of the actual expenses incurred by the surrogate. And a remuneration of the surrogate for her services. In any case, these are just approximate price ranges and by no means can replace the estimations provided by your agency and/or fertility clinic. My recommendation is that you ask for as many details as possible when reviewing different programs.

I’d agree absolutely. I should say that the surrogacy program at BioTex covers all the bases and works in the clients’ favor. Unlike other European clinics, the surrogacy program cost there is significantly lower and service is better than in the high-level medical centers. Depending on diagnosis, doctor can recommend surrogacy program with donor or own eggs. Patients pay for the program on a phased basis. Here are some of the currently available packages:

Pregnancy care (pregnancy monitoring) for the SM. DNA paternity test in their partnering laboratory. PGD service to detect the possible genetic abnormalities and sex of a baby(s) (if indicated!!). In case of the premature birth all the expenses related to additional medical treatment, special medical equipment utilization etc. are covered by them from the first day of birth. The child´s doctor attends the baby every day. Besides customers are provided with the
24/7 phone consultation of a leading English-speaking pediatrician and if needed this leading pediatrician visits the baby upon the request. In case of miscarriage compensation to a surrogate mother is paid by them. Customers are provided with the complete physical checkup of the baby(s) by the focused specialists. Customers can be present during the delivery and stay with a baby in the maternity hospital in separate room until the discharge. Needed injections are performed by the coming nurse domiciliary - in the apartments where the customers are staying. Customers can be provided with the services of the surrogate mother who has already had the experience of a surrogacy.

I’m joining, ladies. Friends of mine looked into the process in the US first. There it was extremelly expensive - $60 – 150k!! For them it was a factor (actually as for everybody else!) Of course things change a lot if you have a family member or friend that is willing to carry it for you. But the process might not be smooth at all. For ex., a surrogate backs out or unfortunate situation like a miscarriage. In this case you automatically have to pay at least $5k to match with another surrogate and do their health workup through the agency! Evidently, there are so many costs that could be added at any time. A surrogate receives on average of $20 – 30k for the pregnancy. The bigger sum of money goes to the agency or lawyer. Also in some states, surrogate mothers retain a parental right to the child, and can even pursue custody. (Even though the embryos placed in the surrogate have both of yourDNA!) The surrogate mother’s name is on the birth certificate. Then a couple has to go through the process of adopting the baby in court. The biggest factor, though, is time. All of the legal paperwork, signing a contract, matching a surrogate, having the surrogate go through the work-up etc. It’s been a year or two since you started the process. Discouraged, they started to look into surrogacy overseas. There were so many options! But some were very sketchy. They read some horror stories about Thailand and India. Both the countries, as a result, have shut down their surrogacy practices not too long ago.
Then how it actually came in favour of Ukraine. The huge factor for them as I’ve mentioned above was process cost. In Ukrainian biotexcom it turned out to be relatively affordable. Clinic’s all-inclusive plans for 32k - 50k euro. They covered absolutely everything outside of your plane tickets. Meds, accommodation, transportation, food. All things that involve IVF, surrogate screening and birth at the hospital. And it was also the same price if donor eggs are chosen to use instead. It was a nice back-up plan to have if things didn’t work out with OE at no additional cost! This blew them away! The best part about it is that they guaranteed them a baby (If the first surrogate doesn’t work out, they will try again with another until they are successful!) Also Ukraine is one of the few places where the laws favor the intended parents rather than the surrogate. Under Ukrainian law, the baby is yours from the moment of conception. Once the baby is born, they put down your names in the birth certificate. Surrogate can’t claim any rights!!
Before going into the process itself do study all possible matters, evaluate every other aspect not to be disappointed lated.
Hope this helps.

Friends of mine were through surrogacy program with Ukrainian biotex. On the whole, this country is surrogacy friendly, seems the process is working smooth and well at each stage. A surrogate cannot keep a baby after birth. After the birth certificate is obtained the embassy process starts. The embassy process differs for every country, so the waiting time is different for every particular case. Though some of the Embassies will require additional DNA test performed on their premises. The clinic provided them full documentary support of the exit process so it passed quite fast for them.

I’ll drop into to share a couple of things. I suppose this gideline would be helpful for ladies considering surrogacy. The process starts with the initial consultation. It is to be scheduled at least 1 week ahead and contains the following activities. A set of tests depending on the program. Consultation with a fertility specialist who will be in charge of your program (in case of stimulation you will need to have the transvaginal ultrasound check done). Consultation with a manager who will guide you through the program step by step. Signing of contracts. First payment and also you will receive the guidelines - failure to follow these recommendations may affect the initial consultation in a negative way. Another step search and confirmation of a surrogate mother, matching process (waiting time also depends on type of contract). After you sign contracts and make the first payment, the medical team starts the selection process that includes:

Initial pre-selection by the local coordinator. Consultation of the fertility specialist. Consultation of a psychologist. Legal consultation and verification of documents. Screening for possible addictions (urine and blood tests). This check-up process, including all necessary tests and exams, takes about 1 month.

Then stimulation and synchronisation stage (usually about 2 weeks). The cycle of egg donor or the biological mother is synchronised with the cycle of a surrogate mother. In case of self-treatment or violation of the treatment protocol, the clinic may cancel the cycle and terminate the contract.

Fertilisation and embryo transfer. This is when donor’s/biological mother’s eggs are retrieved and fertilised by the sperm of a biological father. After fertilisation the embryo development is monitored by our embryology unit. You are to receive the protocol of embryo cultivation and transfer within 3 working days after the embryo transfer. Then HCG test and pregnancy confirmation. The HCG test takes place 2 weeks after the embryo transfer. The surrogate mother has her test in a clinic. The first ultrasound scan is carried out in 2 weeks after the positive HCG test by the doctor. The report will be send the same or the next day after the check. Pregnancy monitoring. What you can expect during this time: Monthly ultrasound checks from the 12th week of pregnancy. Reports along with video and/or pictures will be send the same or the next day. For trisomy screenings, results will be send within 5 working days. Trisomy 13, 18, 21 – on the 12th week of pregnancy . Trisomy 18, 21 – on the 16th week of pregnancy. Delivery of the baby and obtaining of the birth certificate for the baby (up to 1 week). Hope this helps.

I’m sorry you’re going through tough times.I wanted to share some really helpful tips.
The best ways to deal with any kind of emotional and physical stress is the adoption of relaxation techniques in your daily routine. For ex., breathing practices, yoga, meditation and some body massages. This actually releases stress hormones from the body. Another approach is the initiation of a hobby that you actually enjoy. Though the most vital tip is to talk to your partner/dh. Every treatment option is emotionally hard, so couples counseling does miracles in this case.
The most important thing is to educate yourself and your partner about the whole surrogacy procedure.
