IUI in Nov 2012

Hi Everyone,
I am 28 & DH 30.TTC #3…My RE has not been able to pin point any single reason for our infertility. Therefore taking a next step towards IUI this month.I am on CD 7 today. The protocol of my IUI was letrozole from CD 3-CD 7,FSH on CD 9 and U/S to determine trigger shot and finally IUI.
The infertility journey has been really bumpy ride for both of us.It took time to actually sink in and take the next step.
Now we are completely ready and eager to have iui .
Any success story would be highly appreciated.

Hi everyone! I am new to this community. My husband and I have been ttc for 4 years now. I have done 4 rounds of clomid with no success. I have unexplained infertility. I am starting my first round of injectible medications along with my first IUI. Im really excited…but i don’t want to get too excited. Im looking for any success stories of people getting their BFP with their first cycle of Follistim and IUI.:cross::cross::cross:

TTC for 4 yrs now

Hi,
I have been reading the comments and following this site for almost a year now and take the courage to post to this site finally.

We have been TTC for 4 yrs, started with general clomid medicine, did not work on me, letrizol did not work, then moved on to 2 cycles of IUI, all this while my FSH was around 8.2 and now its around 15, amh was a .2 and decreased to 0.014 for couple of months and now back again to 0.21,

My doctor suggested IVF, after 2 IUI’s due to high levels of FSH and very low AMH, but the cycle is cancelled due to poor response to Lurpon, Follistim and Menapur, only 1 egg, 1 follice of 17mm and one at 10mm, so changed to a IUI, day 4 of IUI today.

I am 38 yrs old, soon to be 39yrs, i have thryoid, diabetes and knee arthritis, having issue with Estrogen hormone,

Did anyone face the same situation and have a success, with very low ovarian reserve,

Hpoing and praying this cycle would work, :bsv:

My journey is yet to begin…

Hello

Im trying to figure this website out, there is tons of information here! Im so happy to see that. There are lots of acronyms and other data that I have yet to learn. :nerd:

I am 37 years old (gosh that feels so old, but I just saw a picture of Courtney Cox at 48 and she looks amazingly young!), anyway, I just got married to man of my dreams who is also 37.

I have two kiddos, one is 18 the other is 7. They are wonderful! I mad the worst mistake of my life and had my tubes tied after the birth of my last one. Dumb dumb dumb thing to do!!!

My husband loves our kids but would like to share the experience of pregnacy and birth with me. I would love to have another child (or two) as well! Im getting all goose bumpy sitting here just thinking about it.

We have talked about having a child for a few years now, so we bought a house, got married, found a clinic, filled out our paperwork and got an appointment.

Our consultation appointment is in December, I called today to see if I can push that back a week and they said it would be 2 months! Wow! Ive already been waiting for this appointment for 2 months!

I guess this will be a hard road sometimes, so Im hoping to get support here, get information here and hopfully share our succes here

Im going to the Fertility Center of Oregon, I read good things online and they have a high rate of births.

xoxo

Hi everyone! My name is Jeni, and I’m a 28 year old Army spouse (Hooah!) My DH and I have been TTC for about 3 years, and we decided to seek help. My husband was diagnosed with irreversible male factor infertility. His sperm count was between 2-10 million, and one test was inconclusive. On my side, my HSG came back clear, my ultrasound looks great, but they found that I have a prolactinoma tumor on my pituitary gland that may have been affecting my fertility. Now that is under control with medication, and all of my hormone levels appear to be normal.

This is my first month trying IUI. I took Clomid on CD 1-5, and had a hCG shot last night. Tomorrow is our first attempt at IUI. Our doctor didn’t seem too optimistic, and seems to be pushing for us to do IVF since my DH’s sperm count is so low. I guess we’ll find out just how low after the washing tomorrow! Wish us luck!!

First timer

2 years+ of trying and two natural pregnancies resulted in miscarriages (6 an 10 weeks), we are starting our first iui this month (day 1=nov 15). Diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Everything seems to be working properly or both of us, just no results. I am 32 and DH 33.

I’m hoping to find some support as we go through treatments.

IUI #1 Wednesday

Hi everyone!

So to make a very long story short my hubby and I have been TTC for over 2 years now. We went to one fertility specialist and were not happy with the RE or his surrounding staff after many issues and 1 cancelled IVF cycle we switched to another RE who is AMAZING. He wants us to try IUI 3 times before we go down the IVF route again. Which brings us to today. I was on 50mg of Chlomid all last week and had an u/s yestersday to check my follicles and I have 2 21MM follicles on my right ovary  . So I did a trigger shot last night at 9pm with the IUI scheduled for 9am wednesday morning.

This is has been a rough couple of years but I am more hopeful today than I have been in a long time. I am sending :bsv: to everyone else doing an IUI this month!

:babydust: to all!

Hello to all! My name is Jayme…we’ve been TTC for 3 years and the past year has been with an RE. This month was our first month to do any procedure/meds (IUI). Previously I was being monitored & my husband started Clomid & Fertility Blend. We have MFI.

In 2005 my husband was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Actually, he was diagnosed on THE DAY we evacuated for Hurricane Rita, which eventually came through & reeked havoc on our town. We were unable to return home for a month and a half ! While we were evacuated his doctor got us into a hospital (UTMB in Galveston, TX) which was amazing! The doctor’s there were AWESOME! Anyways, he had to go in for emergency surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery went well & it was reported that they got all the cancer. About one month later at a checkup they told us they were going to do “preventative” radiation just to be certain the cancer did not return. After numerous discussions about this we finally said yes. Prior to starting radiation we did bank his sperm however this was AFTER his surgery. I don’t remember those numbers & we are actually in the process of getting that information.

Well no thought for fertility for several years, flash foward to 2009 when we decided to to start trying. We finally gave up on our own and starting seeing an RE. July 2011 DH’s count was 9 million with 50% motility. Not too bad considering! They put him on Clomid & the supplements & we continued on our own. I had all the testing possible and there is no indication of anything wrong on my end.

After one year of nothing we went back to the doctor and decided to move forward with the IUI. Here we are. Only crazy thing is his counts went down! 1st IUI it was 1.4 million post wash with 70% motility. 2nd IUI it was 2.4 million with 65% motility. We go tomorrow evening for our next cycle consultation to see what is going on with DH and what we can do from here on out. Also, as I said before, we are getting the information from the sperm bank to see if that will help us at all.

I have been looking at these sites for so long and just recently decided to join so I could share and discuss with everyone. I also really hope to get in touch with anyone that has similar problems as us. Thank you to all the ladies on this site that are willing to share their ups and downs with everyone. It really is a blessing to know that you’re not alone!

New Kid on the Block

Hello all…I am so very new to this. New to infertility treatments and new to talking to strangers on the internet about the same issues. I decided to join because I found myself getting much relief when I would “google” something and all these forums came up. It was reassuring that there were people going through the same thing, AND willing to talk about it!

So here’s my story-my husband and I decided that it was time to start trying for a little one. I was not on BC before this decision and it was a surprise there was not BFP in the prior years…So after 2 years of TTC with no luck and one round of Clomid with my gyn, we decided to go to RE.

All of my tests were normal including my HSG. My DH tests were spot on-recording at 225 million swimmers with great shape. RE decided that IUI was the best treatment with our diagnosis of unexplained infertility.

So I started Femara 2.5mg on 11/25 and followed that with the Follistium shots. I went back to RE yesterday and had one follicle measuring at 22. (I was a little bummed there was only one follicle, but I am calling it the golden egg.)

I gave myself the trigger shot last night at midnight and I have my first IUI scheduled tomorrow morning at 11am! I am super nervous, scared, and anxious all at the same time.

Thanks so much for taking the time to get to know my story

Hey Vwelyn- Sounds like we are in the same boat. Thus far everything has come back normal for me, but my husbands SA showed between 3-11 millino sperm. His urologist said there was no way to increase it. We decided to do 3 rounds of IUI with his sperm then either moving on to IVF or IUI with sprem donor! Such a tough decision. I will have cycle day 12 u/s to see how I did on clomid. Hopefully will be able to do the trigger shot and IUI later this week! Hope all went well with your IUI and you get your BFP! Keep me updated

Hi everyone! DH and I have a beautiful daugther conceived on our 2nd IUI in 2009. Now we are TTC#2 and finding our journey is not as easy as it was the first time.
A little bit of history - I had lymphoma as a child (succesfully cured and it had no impact on my fertility that I know of). DH has been fighting the same disease that I had for over 10 years. We met through a mutual friend who knew we had both gone through the same thing, and long story short, here we are! His treatments for his disease did impact his ability to have children, but we froze 10 vials of sperm before his stem cell transplant in 2005.
In 2009, despite his disease, we decided we wanted to live the most full and happy life possible no matter the cards we were dealt. So, we had our DD and she is just amazing. We thought we were ok with being a one-child family but have recently decided we really wanted to TTC another baby.
We recently had 3 failed IUI attempts, and we are getting discouraged. But, the only thing I know to do is move forward and try again! We have 5 frozen vials left and are willing to try IUI another 1-2 times before moving to IVF. I was so hopeful that it would be just as easy to conceive this time and I was wrong!
We have kept this mostly to ourselves so it’s nice to come here to have people to talk to about this process.
Good luck to you all and look forward to getting to know everyone.

Better late than never?!

Morning Ladies!

I was so unsure of joining a forum but it the past 2 weeks this site has kept me sane and much calmer having found a lot of advice and couples going through the same thing.

Here’s my story. We’ve been TTC since June 2010 but I’m 30, he’s 32 and it was determined that we’re both healthy and therefore fall into the unexplained infertility category  (Just yesterday we found out my TSH is higher than they want and we may dig deeper if this month is unsuccessful.)

After a year we were referred to our FS who is incredible and always optimistic. We continued 6 months natural, 6 months of Clomid and just had our first IUI in December (Puregon shots + Ovidrel + Prometrium). Moving on to IUI #2 this month.

Best of luck to all of us; I am so happy to have joined this forum!
