Hello

Well I have been on this site for a few months, I just saw this forum about IUI… I am hoping that I will be able to do IUI and not have to go through the huge expense of IVF.

My wife and I have been ttc for about 2 years now.
After about a year we decided to get checked out.

I am 23 and I have low motility/count (about 200,000 good sperm)

My wife is 26 no known issues

Never in a million years would I have thought that I would have any issues, especially (and not trying to offend anyone) with my young age.

I have currently been taking chlomid and some other medicine to increase my testosterone(and hopefully my sperm count) and decrease my estrogen My Testosterone level went from low 200’s to about 940 in just three months!

I go back to my urologist in February for another SA and to find out if we can do IUI or if my count is still too low in which case we have to go the IVF route.

Reading all your success stories has given me hope, and I feel like this forum helps keep me sane by having other people who are going through the same thing to talk to about all this.

I will update everyone in February with the ruling. Here is to hoping for at least IUI!

New Member with a question…

Hello All

So glad to have found this site! Especially since my DH is embarassed to talk about our issues with friends and family.

My situation is as follows my DH and I are both 32 years young  And 2 1/2 years ago we found out he had a varicocele…after 2 surgeries his count went up but only slightly. Personally, things happened in our lives since then and we put off “really trying” until about 6 months ago.

My DH just got his sperm re-tested last week and the count was 15 million with only 32% motility.
We met with a fertility specialist and started talking about starting with IUI, however I don’t like the idea of taking clomid…is it worth to do IUI without it? Anyone had success?

Also, today we met with an acupuncturist who suggessted my DH take Proxeed, which I ordered right away.

SO, my question to all of you…should we wait to do the IUI until after a few months of acupuncture? Or does practice make perfect…so to speak

PS…I should have included that everything is fine and normal with me (Thank God), positive HSG test this past August, etc…

Hi all,
I just joined this site a few days ago and it has already made a big impact on how I feel about everything we are going through. I am 29 and DH 44 with PCOS (no ovulation on my own) and low count. We have a three year old and have been trying for #2 ever since he was born. We are on IUI#2 :cross: and hoping for the best. It has been very nice to have people going through the all the same things as us to talk to.

Good luck to all of you!

Hello

Hi! I’m 36 and after going through all the tests, I’m classified as unexplained infertility. We just had our BFN after our first Gonal-F and IUI. I was feeling very depressed and hopeless, until I came on here. I come from a very large and fertile family, so this is new to me and everyone else. There isn’t anyone who really understands and that I can talk to. I felt alot better after reading a few posts on here and seeing how supportive everyone is. I’m eager to join the community and share with everyone.

I know how you feel

@Firerose76, I know exactly how you feel. I was devastated when I found out my 1st IUI was not successful. I started treatment for our 2nd and last IUI, this will be a successful one. Stay positive and  and do not give up, we will have our children in no time. :preg:

Good luck to all, wishing everyone a :bfp: result this month! :flower:

My DH and I talked and decided to not do a cycle without using Clomid and trigger for timed ovulation. We have limited $$ so wanted to do everything we could to increase our chances since we are having to use donor sperm. If you are trying acupuncture I would wait for a month and give the treatment time to work and hopefully increase your DH sperm count and motility . Sending lots of prayers your way.

hi everyone, I m new here even though I ve been reading you for a while, finding a lot of interesting info for the constant questions in m head…
after a little over a year of VERY diligent TTC, and the usual first batch of tests we have a diagnosis “infertilicus unexplenicus” :nerd:
I actually haven’t had a BFP, but I also haven t had a reason to test. I don t test early (too stressful for me) and AF is more on time than a train in England!
my doc now, before we get into more aggressive testing (lap, endo biopsy…) wants to try a few IUI’s to see if that ll just do the trick!! so this month he wants to do an unmedicated IUI since I do O anyway…
good to find you here, good luck to everyone!!!

Hi all I’ve been reading this forum for a couple of months now as I’ve done research in IUI.

I’m a single 35 year old woman who wants to realize her dream of being a mother. After a few failed relationships I refuse to wait longer since the older I get the harder it will be to conceive.

I’ve done all my rounds of tests and the only problem I seem to have is having low progesterone.

So my next cycle they are going to start me on clomid and it will be my first IUI so :cross:

Through this forum and going to my fertility doctor I’ve realized how many people are out there with different issues and all they want to do is have a child together I  for them as I pray for all of you.

I’m so happy to have found this site because it makes me feel less lonely about my decision and a realistic understanding about what is to come.

I’m trying to learn all the lingo…so baby dust to all of you.

Hi I’m Tay

I’m new here.
I always come on here to look for answers to my questions.
I am going through IUI treatment and can’t help but be either pissed off from the hormones or sad because it’s another negative. :grr: I need some advise and/or support!
Hope to meet some lovely girls on here that are going through the same thing :flower:

Decided to make first post on this forum. New to this site but not new to infertility and the heartbreak that comes with it!

We started TTC Sept 2011 after we got married and never assumed things would not go well. My cycles got longer and longer and to rule out problems on his end, a SA revealed that there were more problems. Consults went from family doctor, to OB/GYN, to urologist and now at an RE who we LOVE and is very honest and open with us about our options.

Recently finished my first round of clomid and go this week for us, trigger and IUI. Couldn’t be more excited to be starting this next step. This site has been a great motivation and encouragement that people in my situation can get pregnant.

Newbie

Hi, I’m Jen. My DH and I have been TTC for 10 months. Because of our ages (I’m 37 and he’s 41), we started seeing an RE at 6 months of TTC. Usual tests, no abnormalities except DH sperm count, morphology, and motility all low but not to the point it made things impossible. Clomid x 3 months w/ no success. 3 follicles this cycle. IUI on 1/19/13 and now waiting very impatiently. DH’s sperm count during washing process counted and had more than doubled. (We’re not sure why but very happy!). Serious roller coaster of emotions, not wanting to get my hopes up too much but till optimistic and trying to think positive thoughts.

I’ve been reading through a lot of your stories - thanks everyone for sharing your stories. We’re not sure who we should share our infertility trials with, when we’ve brought it up with family and friends they seem embarrassed to talk about it with us, and I have such a need to talk about it!

#2677

Hello everyone!
Like everyone has mentioned, going through this process is so scary, and emotional not to mention a financial risk that each and everyone of us is committed to see it to the end when we can have our own bundles of joy. Me and DH have been together for 7 years and ttc since then, but with our ages me 28 and him 33, that biological clock is screaming and it’s time for us to start our family. Good luck and  for all!!!

IUI first time TTC 12 months

Hi there I am Tiffany 31 TTC with DH for 12 months. Me 3 miscarriages, previous cervical cancer with multiple coloposcopys and one conization, diagnosed with unexplained infertlility and hypothyroid. DH sperm count and motility 50 - 80 million with 75% motility so no problems there.

We just had IUI 1/24/13 for the first time and it is such a rollercoaster ride waiting. I am so glad that there are other people going through the same things as me because it really helps.

Tiffany

ttc almost 3yrs

Hi, I just joined yesterday and am glad that i can connect with people who understand what I am going through! My hubby has a vasectomy reversal and had a good count and motility pretty soon after the surgery but now, for some unexplained reason, his motility has dropped down so low that it is impossible for us to get pregnant even with IUI. Doc says IVF with ICSI and possible TESA. Hopefully I will be starting BCP next week to get this thing going just waiting to hear back about what procedure the doc thinks will work best.

Does anyone have any advice for first time IVF tries or how to increase sperm motility?

First IUI this month!!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone! This forum has been invaluable for information, support and those times when DH just doesn’t want to talk fertility anymore!! This journey of infertility would be unbearable if not for the knowledge that there are so many others going through the same things. Thank you all for being brave enough to share
