3 Iui

Hello everyone! Just wanted to post because I have gotten so much out of your post. I am working on my 3 re IUI but this time we are adding 75 units of FSH or follistem 3 injections day 6, 8 & 10. Day 10 ultrasound and then I find out when to take hsg trigger shot. First two IUI’s only showed one follicle. Husband has 70 mil motility and I have pcos and blockage in tubes cleared with hsg X-ray. AF came a week and a half early. No time to even hope. I felt devastated about the 2nd neg because I didn’t get but one week post IUI. So back on the horse but with FSH and hoping that this works or we have to wait for a long time financially. Wish us luck!!! And best of luck to all of you!!!

Newbie

Hi.

My name is Melissa. My DH and I dated
for 3 years. We are newlyweds and got married on Sept 1, 2012. We have been TTC for the past 15 months. In November we had our first fertility consult. We have completed 4 rounds of labs, pelvic ultrasound and SA. So far all results have been good. DH numbers have been good. My pelvic ultrasound appeared normal nd my progesterone levels have been 14-16 on days 21-22. I have an HSG scheduled for 1st week of March. Our current plan is to continue with times bedroom dance until July. Starting in July nothing happens then we will move on with IUI. DH is 38 and I am 28. We are hoping to do IUI with Clomid do to studies showing that being more effective with IUI. Currently we are parents Duke, Sully, Marley, Blizzard, Slinky, Dakota and Buddy (all fur babies, 3 cats and 4 dogs). I look forward to getting to know you ladies and go through this difficult journey with everyone.

Hey Everyone!!! I am not new to the forums or the infertility game but wanted to re-introduce myself. We were blessed with our miracle baby in May of 2011! Took us 6 years to have our Jackson and we will be trying again in the next few months.

I look forward to talking with you all and supporting each other during our journeys.

I am new to this site, but not new to the TTC process. Me and DH have been married 12 years and TTC for 10 years. After a year of trying, DH had an SA and found less than 2 million sperm. All my tests came back okay. We have done IVF and 2 cycles of diui with no success and then took a long break to decide if we wanted to go further with this process. Also moved, went back to school, etc…

Went back to the RE in December 2012 to try and do diui again. Found out I now have a uterine fibroid. Had it removed this week and hopefully will start the diui process in the next couple of months. I am looking forward to get and know you all.

Brand new…

Hi All. I am brand new to this forum- well, actually I’m brand new to any forum.
I’m not sure where to start…
My name is Felecia. I just turned 27, as did my husband. We’ve been married 3 years this year. We have been trying to conceive for the past two years hoping that we could.
My husband was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease Lymphoma at 14. He did chemo and radiation. For some reason the doctors at the time didn’t suggest preserving sperm so when they did a count at 15 he showed no signs of anything. They seemed very optimistic that with him being so young he shouldn’t have a problem years down the road.
When he was 15 the cancer came back. He underwent chemo and radiation once more and, this go round, a stem cell transplant using his stem cells. He has now been in remission for 12 years.
We recently had a check to see if he had any viable sperm and they said he didn’t. We’re devastated. I do want to go to a fertility expert (luckily we’re close to Vanderbilt University) to see about a second opinion and options.

I’m hoping with all hope we’ll be able to conceive without using donor sperm (if not we’ll definitely look into it) but we just want to know for sure before going the donor route.
Anyone know of a couple conceiving after something like this?

I’m so happy to be here and be a part of a group where I can talk to people and get insight.

Please Help

Hi I just joined the forum recently. I was diagnosed with endometriosis last year, and I have had it since I was 12. I got fibroids when I was 14 and 16 and cysts at 18. My life has been miserable since 12, I’m constantly tired, I’ve never been proactive, my weight fluctuates, I’ve never really enjoyed intercourse, I can’t stand for more than 2 hours without feeling heavy back pains, I’ve been on pain killers for 9 years and bladder infections are the least of my problems. I’m under mirena now, and I went for a hysterescopy recently, I’m bleeding, have a lot of excrutiating cramps and a terrible fever. I’m only 21 but I’m tired of living like this, I want kids in future, but at the moment I can’t afford having 1. I have been considering getting a hysterctomy, is it the way to go?:grr:

I am also new to this forum. My DH and I have been TTC for 2 years now. We’ve been seeing my RE for the last year. We’ve taken this process pretty slow just for the fact that I am trying to do as much research as possible so that we don’t rush into something that we don’t need to do. We have had 1 IUI that failed. We have taken a bit of a break but are planning on jumping back into it next month with another IUI. I am so freaked out by all of this. I never in a million years thought that trying to have a baby could be so hard.

Me: Both ovaries, 1 fallopian tube, all other tests looks good

DH: Count and motility was good (don’t remember exact #'s) morphology 3.4%

Thinking aboug IUI waiting for results of Semen Analysis

I am relatively new to this site. My husband and I have been TTC for about a year. I took BCP for 10 years and went off a year ago. Since then my cycles have been completely screwed up and my hormones have been all over the place. I went to my gyno to see what was up and told him about all of my symptoms and how I spot starting on day 21-23 and then get a period on day 24 or 25 which to me seems very short. My PMS symptoms last all month long. He checked my FSH and m y Progesterone several months in a row and it seemed that I am ovulating, but not every month. My husband had a semen analysis and the doctor said his count is low. He didn’t explain, but reffered us to a fertility specialist. We went yesterday and I was frustrated because our test results never arrived at the new office so he couldn’t really give us many answers. He wants to try IUI, but said that if my husbands sperm count is below 10million that it will not be possible and we would have to do IVF. That is very upsetting for me. We absolutely cannot afford IVF not even once. That is ten thousand dollars!!! :frowning: We cannot possibly save that up. Not in this economy. I am hoping for a positive answer that we can go ahead with the IUI. Waiting for answers is driving me crazy and I am so afraid that the news will be devastating. IUI is really our only option besides fertility drugs and TTC naturally. We cannot afford adoption or IVF. I’ve read a lot of stories and articles about living a happy life without children and I just keep imagining myself on my death bed fifty years from now with no one there no children, grandchildren or anyone. It is too lonely and I can’t live like that. I don’t want to be some lonely old Aunt that some niece or nephew is obligated to take care of out of guilt someday.
If we do get to do the IUI I have to have an HSG which is freaking me out because I am highly allergic to XRAY dye which is a necessity to see which tubes are blocked and such. They would have to shoot me up with tons of steroids and drugs to couteract the dye. I am willing to do it, but scared to death. I have had anaphalactic reactions before to foods and meds and it is so scary.
I feel so alone. No one in my family or any of our friends has ever had trouble TTC and we have tons of people having babies right now so it’s a baby shower every other month for me right now and it’s breaking my heart. At my husbands birthday last week all his relatives and friends were chiding us on how we haven’t reproduced yet and how we’re the only ones and how nice it would be if we would just hurry up already. I wanted to punch them in the face. Why is it so easy for everyone else I know, but not for us???:grr:

Me 30- screwed up cycle, infrequent ovulation
Inerstititial Cystitis :frowning:
Husband- 30 low sperm count

Oldie but Newbie once again

Hi all!
I was on this forum in 2009 when I did IUI. The second round I got pregnant with my now GORGEOUS daughter. She will be 3 in April!
We have decided to try for another! I am very excited and very happy. This time the pressure is off, or so it seems.

I wouldn’t have gotten through my treatments without support from all of the wonderful people on this forum!

I am so very excited to begin this journey again!

First IUI on 03/3 & 03/04

Hi there!
So i have spent so much time reading everyone’s story and well, here is mine.

I have one son who is 6 years old and when I got pregnant with him I had just been diagnosed with PCOS, but I was 27 and it only took one time.

Now 33, my new DH and I have been trying and my PCOS is so much worse. I haven’t ovulated in lord knows how long and my DH’s little guys are about 1/2 of what they should be in everyway. I started clomid (100 mg)

On 03/02 I went in and and a negative LH surge through blood. The next day I did a blood test again and it was positive, so that was the day for the first IUI & HCG trigger shot. But I only had one follicle and it was about 18cm.
Dr said that she could see fluid around it on 03/4 which was my second IUI and that it should be gone tomorrow during my ultrasound. The next day, the follicle was still there. Dr said that it probably filled back up with fluid and that it probably released the egg. My hopes were shattered!
Now 9 days post IUI my nipples are SO sore and they have darkened. I’m starving ALL the time and I can’t sleep through the night at all.
Could this just be all in my head becuase I want to be pregnant so bad?

Anyway, thanks for listening.

Frustrated!!!

Hello everyone. I stumbled across this site while searching for support while my husband of 8 yrs and I struggle with our infertility. I was not ovulating on my own and my DH SA showed no lil swimmers so we are going through a donor bank. My Dr. Has me going on a 100 mg clomid cycle on day 5-9. I go in on day 15 for my us and have always had a few follicules measuring anywhere from18-22 and he will have me trigger with ovidrel that night and return 38 hrs later for my IUIs. We have done 3 cycles all :bfn:. I never had any blood work done so I will have to bring this up to him. It’s getting a little frustrating cause we are ready have a family. Wishing you all :babydust: would love to hear some advise on this situation. Is there something else he should be doing or me!!!

First Time IUI

Hi all, This is my first time posting on a forum - I came across this page whilst researching a few things related to my and DH infertility. Although he is perfectly fine, I just don’t ovulate on my own :o

I have just had my first iui 3 days ago and also first time with any fertility aid so this is all very new to me.

Currently on gonal-f and ovadril. Had one follie at 20cm and DH has good sperm count (29 million post wash) so fingers crossed :cross:

I can’t describe this feeling - It’s seems a bundle of anxiety, happiness, scared, nervous, unsure… all rolled into one! Currently in my 2ww and I really do hope it doesn’t seem like a lifetime to pass. Any ideas on how I can make the next 2 weeks fly by?

Hi Everyone!
My story kind of just begun. My husband and I never had to actually “try” because when I got off BCP in April I never got my period again and was not ovulating so we knew there was a problem before we started. I was referred to my RE in November and had all the necessary testing (bloodwork/ultrasound/semen analysis/HSG)-all normal! I was told I have PCOS even though I’m not overweight/no cysts/horomones are normal. Just no period so I thought that was a strange DX since I dont have many of the symptoms.
My first IUI I was put on Provera to bring on period-then Clomid 50mg-estrogen patches(lining very thin)-acchieved 1 follie(24mm)-Ovidrel-IUI 24 hrs later-:bfn:.
The next month I was told that I wasn’t going to use Clomid for any future IUI’s bc I had too many side effects including a cyst. I was put on BCP for 5 weeks and then started:
IUI #2 which I was taking Follistim 75iu up’d to 150iu(11 days)-Ovidrel (this past sunday night) Follies(16/ (2)15’s/ (2) 14’s/ (2) 13’s
I am going in for my IUI tomorrow morning!
I really hope this works!:cross:
:babydust: to everyone!

Hi Jamison0607 :welcome:

Nice to hear your story - It sounds very similar to mine where I came off BCP in October 2011 and still no AF :grr:

I’m not sure why as I had no problems as a teenager! I was on BCP for about 10 years though.

First time IUI, I am on Gonal-F and Ovadril. I triggered on 19th with one 20cm follie and had my IUI on 20th March with excellent sperm count from DH. My RE has me on progesterone tablets twice daily and a high dose of ovadril every 3 days. I am off for my first blood test since IUI on Thursday and then the big pregnancy test on 5th April. Nervous!
I hope this cycle is the one for you :woohoo:
