CONGRATS DESI!!! That is awesome!!! very close to my first beta (175). I am so happy for you and DH!! I think we had a pretty good turn out for Aug/Sept!!! Tomorrow I will be 6 weeks. On Wed we are doing another ultrasound and hoping we may get to see or even hear a heart beat!! Crossing fingers for a big number on Wed for you!!!

#37823

Congratulations! Keep us updated. I love hearing the good news.

#37824

Yeah!! That is a great first beta!! Congratulations!

#37825

Oh, and I had ZERO symptoms during the two week wait…I feel like crap 100% of the time now, but nothing during the tww or the next few weeks after…

#37826

Yay!!! That is a Great Number! And… all of my symptoms (except my scary spotting) are gone and I am having twins. I think that they come and go with most people. I am looking forward to hearing how your 2nd Beta goes.

We had our U/S yesterday and everything looks great. Two heartbeats! On the way to the RE I had told my DH that I bet one baby is a few days behind the other. I had POAS 6dp3dt and got a BFP. Two days later I had cramping and what I assumed was implantation spotting. I was right. Baby B is a few days behind, but RE says in a few weeks they will even out to be the about the same size.
Funny story. I was laying there “in the position” as she guided the magic wand around, and I hear her say “Oh”. Then she asked me how many we had put back again, and I told her 2. She said that she is seeing 3 sacs. So I lay there for 5 min. while her and the u/s tech discuss whether one had split. They finally determined that the 3rd “sac” is a blood clot, and that is why I am having weird bleeding. They say the clot will either be absorbed by my body, or I will continue to pass it slowly. There is no danger posed to the babies.
So even though we are only about 7 weeks in, we decided to go ahead and tell everyone. I can never keep a secret for 12 wks anyway.LOL

Hey girls!

BETA #2 is DONE: it more than doubled, it went from 171 to 567!!!

I was a bit concerned today because I decided to take the order to a local hospital lab, to avoid the hour journey to my clinic… I should have gone there for my beta #1 but didn’t think about it… so today I did… and the RE nurse was concerned because the calibration of the machines may be different, so she said that I could get a lower number as a result, not quite the double they expected… I almost left the local lab and drove all the way to the clinic just to use the same machine… but then I thought: my symptoms have NOT changed. I have NO REASON to believe I am not prego this time, so far so good… talked to DH and decided to stay in our local lab. Which was great, I was seeing right as I arrived as well. Got home and all I wanted was to SLEEP (the only symptoms I have been having really is tiredness… sleepiness.)

This afternoon I called the lab, they had fax’d the results at noon to my clinic… but I had not heard from anyone yet… so I contacted my RE/DE nurse (my favorite nurse! who keeps in touch via email), she then contacted me and gave me the results via email, telling everything looked great… and just after 5 PM, I get the call from the regular RE Nurse with the news.

Now I will go for progesterone and Beta #3 on Friday, at our local hspt

Feeling great!!! oh my… I can’t believe it… it is working!!

I should add: good thing we only transferred one… DH is so happy with that choice as we couldn’t take twins now… I pray my numbers continue to rise!

#37832

Desi- I am not sure about a gender scan. How far along must you be to have one? We definitely want to know so we can plan. After all, we do need TWO of everything Once we see the heartbeats, our RE passes us on to my OB. This part scares me because with our 1st pregnancy I lost my baby after the RE let us go and before the OB picked us up. This time I have chosen a specialist in Fetal and Maternal medicine. They normally do not see patients until they are in week 10, but they are making an exception for me, They have squeezed me in for next Thurs.

Hi ladies! Sorry I’ve been away so long. After all the forum issues (still hate the new site) I needed a break to regroup. I’m overjoyed to see the good news from so many of you. This is the way this is supposed to work. I have some back reading to do to catch up on everyone. After my FET was cancelled in July due to a crappy lining we were gearing up for September but of course my period was two weeks late so now we’re shooting for October. On the plus side it was a lot heavier so looks like I had my first thick lining of the year. We’ve been trying to do this transfer for months so I’m glad we’re finally getting started. I have to follow up with the nurse but this time I’m on vag estrace for a couple weeks and start delestrogen on the 27th. I think they’re trying to give me extra time for my lining to thicken but I’m a little concerned about being on estrogen so long. I don’t want a lining with with crusty old blood. We’ll see what the nurse says. I’ll also be on dexamethasone for a month so combined with the estrogen I’m guessing my lining won’t be the only thing plumping up. We’re also trying lovenox starting on transfer day. I’m so mentally and physically drained but trying to think positively and get excited about the possibilities. Logging in and seeing all the new pregnancies gives me hope. So happy for all the mommies to be.

Hi guys…Need some advice…New in this thread.
I am going to India for DE IVF. I need to tell you my history briefly before I can ask you my question. I had very very light period (few drops) from past 8 months due to low Vitamin D (at least that is what I think). My RE and gynecologist tried everything but couldn’t tell the reason. My RE did few ultrasounds and said my uterus looks perfect and he doesn’t see any problem with lining or other things and I should not worry going to IVF. So I was in the process of discussing the DE IVF with my Indian doctor and she said it is ok not to get full blown bleeding. As long as I am having a cycle, it would be ok for DE IVF. In the meantime, I went to my physician to check my vitamins as my sister has the same problem for past 3 years (lack of period) and when they started giving her vitamin shots, she got her period right away. They said I have very low Vitamin D and started taking it. It has no change in me even after I took 3 months of vitamin D. Then suddenly I found my DE and I was on pill. Took it for 21 days and stopped. I got my full period (my vitamin was just about normal that month) and was happy. I was done with Vitamin shots and started over the counter pills. I also couldn’t do IVF because DE was not available suddenly. Started BC pill again and took it for 28 days to match with DE. Now, yesterday was my first day of period but I am again in the same place. Just few drops of blood and severe cramping and other symptoms that I usually have during period. I bought my tickets to travel this coming weekend and I have an ultrasound scheduled tomorrow. It is night in India now and I can only call them tonight but I am worried now whether it is ok to not have any bleeding. Where will all the old lining go? What if it is not shredded properly? Will the new lining form? Did anyone of you have scarce period and still go for IVF. By the way, my obgyn did all blood tests last week as I am going for IVF and I was told that my vitamin D dropped again to the lowest point. SO I started taking it this week. So looks like my period is associated with Vitamin D (I can write a research paper) but what about my IVF. Should I go or not? Any suggestions…

Sorry I can’t help you as I have not had any experience with this. I do have severe anemia and took pre-natal vitamins for approx 6 months before i started my DE cycle. I wish you the very best of luck

Desiree - I am so happy all of your beta’s doubled nicely.

Slushy - how exciting that you got to see the lil one’s heartbeat. I can’t wait. We are scheduled for this Friday and I am so anxious. I can’t wait to take a peek and see what is going on in there. Will keep you posted.

Suzy - thanks for checking in on us. What a shame this board has quieted down so much.

I would be hesitant to blame menstral cycles on Vitamin D levels (and I’m a MD). If you are worried, ask your RE about an endometrial biopsy/scraping/D&C on the cycle before your planned transfer. It cleans the lining and in some studies, has dramatically increased implantation rates. I did this on my 3rd transfer with a lining of 5.4mm (crappy and wasn’t going to ever get better) and managed to implant 3 blasts and have twins! I’m a believer that it clears old linings and promotes growth factors that help make the lining more favorable for implantation.
