Even though I got pregnant everytime, I lost 2 and that was sort of a shock (the 1st one especially). I wish I was a little more prepared for those but I know how very very lucky I am to be 19 weeks along with another little miracle :preg:

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! OH gosh there is so much, we never switched clinics we were happy but if we failed one more time, was going to try a diff place. I mean you have to believe in your doctor and if htey are not willing to try diff things, do your own reserach and try to make them try diff things, if they are not wiling, switch clinics or doctors. This is your stuggle and your story-take charge as much as you can. Forums where so HUGE to me to communicate with others in the same situation. Infertility can be a very lonely road so find help bc it is out there. I actually went to a councelor to deal with it and was the best decision ever! Winners never quit and quitters never win–quote I lived by thru this process and if IVF or IUI is not working try adoption. You will get your precious baby! Best of luck to you.__________________

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process? I did a lot of research so there isn’t anything I didn’t really know about before I started the process. I would say though to stay positive and try not to test during the 2ww, I think we go through enough emotional ups and downs through this that, the is there a line or isn’t there a line game can be quite taxing. Also if God forbid you have a chemical, you get a line then your beta comes and its negative. Its a lot worse than if you hadn’t known from the beginning. We were also doing acupuncture for months before IVF, through the process and right after transfer. Its definitely helps with anxiety. Good luck to all those still on their journey. Don’t give up! :babydust:

It was the only thing I did differently on my cycle that worked!!!:flower:

Don’t plan any big activities during the period you are on stims, that was a mistake! You will need the support of your partner, so try to include them in as many of the appts as you can so they can understand what it going on. Above all, take care of yourself. Wishing you the best of luck on your journey.

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process! I know the infertility process is very stressful, but trust me…it wont get easier once you are pg. You will always stress over something. After I got pg it became worries of miscarriage, after passing the miscarriage stage it was the testing for chromosomal abnormalities, then it was worrying that one was bigger than the other, now its am I prepared enough as I sit here on hospital bedrest at 29 weeks praying to stay pg for a few more weeks.

ENJOY THE RIDE. You will get pg. I made the mistake of not journaling my journey or making a scrapbook for my little ones and now I’m reaching the end of my journey with some regret. For 5 years I treated my sex life as just baby making time. My husband and I have not been able to have sex for 3 months now and I wish I would have enjoyed him when I had the chance.
Enjoy your journey. As long as it may seem.

I just wanted to share my successful IVF experience with everyone here. I had my first baby (now 5 yo) with no problem. Then we tried one year without success for the 2nd baby. I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure, so we didn’t wait a sec and decided on IVF right away. First time was a fesh cycle. They transferred the best 2 out of 5 3-day blast and after 2 ww, it didn’t stay. I waited 3 months before doing it again. Then they transferred the remaining 3 embryos. I wasn’t expecting it to work again because people told me frozen cycle has less success rate. But I went for it anyway. Then after 2 ww, my first beta was 370! Second beta went up to 7172! Now my baby girl is 5 month old, she’s so adorable and lovely! My message to everyone who is trying is hang in there and don’t give up. Miracle happens when you least expect them.

IVF Success!!!

Name:Cassandra Jensen
Age:30
How long TTC:3 years
Diagnosis or any known issues:Both tubes damaged beyond repair
Treatments you tried before IVF:None. Had 5 miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy. My doctors refused to recommend me to an infertility specialist so I finally took it upon myself to find one. He is absolutely AMAZING! Upon doing the HSG, we discovered the tube damage explaining all of my losses.
How many IVF did you do before success:1
Are you using donor eggs or sperm:No
Protocol (meds taken):Follistum, Menopur, Doxycycline, Ganirelix, HCG 10,000 IU, Prednisone, Crinone, P4 Oil, and Low Dose Aspirin
How many follicles at ER:I can’t remember how many follicles, but I believe 20
How many eggs retrieved:17
How many eggs fertilized:13 and 7 blasts total
How many days between ER and ET:5 days
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred:1 perfect blast transferred!
Symptoms or issues during 2WW:3 days following the transfer I had a burning, pulling feeling on the lower left side of my abdomen. I knew without a doubt it was implantation. This feeling was on and off for around 2 hours. No spotting. The next morning my temp dipped way low.
What day you got your BFP:I got my :bfp:the morning of my temp dip, following what I knew was the beginning of implantation, which was 4dp5dt. It was faint but absolutely there! I was a little nervous that the HCG shot may have been responsible for the positive so I tested again the next morning and it got much darker!
Number of first beta:I did my first beta on 10dp5dt and it was 159.
Number of babies:I am very early in pregnancy, :bsv:haven’t even had our first u/s yet but since we only transferred one embie, I’m assuming there’s only baby in there. Of course, there’s always a slight chance of twins!
Before I began IVF I was honestly terrified! But my desire to have a baby and to become a mommy was so powerful, the process felt like a breeze. I just kept that picture of holding our first born in my arms and nothing else to seemed to matter. I was very squeamish of needles before beginning this and I did all of my own injections! I will say though, my husband has been my rock through this whole thing. Having a supportive and loving partner by your side really changes everything. IVF has been an absolute blessing to our lives! I would do it all over again if I had to!

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: That it really works!! After over 6 years of trying to get pregnant, month after month after month of disappointment, we didn’t let ourselves get too excited. We were absolutely shocked when we got the positive results!! It is so important to hold onto that hope and know that it can happen and WILL happen.
I would have liked to have known that the injections were no big deal at all!! Seriously. I am the biggest baby in the world when it comes to needles, I was so scared. I was amazed at how easy and (for the most part) painless the whole process was!
Also, I didn’t know how much of a bonding experience this would be for my husband and me. It has been incredible, it’s really brought us so close.
It’s an awesome, terrifying, stressful, emotional, time consuming, energy-sucking, amazing, crazy expensive whirlwind but soooo worth it!!

Name: Nicole

Age: 36

How long TTC: 4+ years

Diagnosis or any known issues:
Me: PCOS, Naturally high killer cell count, Thrombophilia
DH: Low count & motility

Treatments you tried before IVF: none, we were told from the beginning that IUI wouldn’t be a good option for us

How many IVF did you do before success: total of 7 embryo transfers, some fresh some frozen

Are you using donor eggs or sperm: no

Protocol (meds taken): various, what worked this time - intralipid transfusion prior to transfer to help balance out killer cell levels, 2x daily heparin injections entire pregnancy for thrombophilia

How many follicles at ER: I don’t remember lol

How many eggs retrieved: 6

How many eggs fertilized: 5

How many days between ER and ET: 5

How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 3

Symptoms or issues during 2WW: heavy spotting - thought for sure it was another failure

What day you got your BFP: 7 days post transfer

Number of babies: 2

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process!
That it would take so long and so many tries before we had success. I wish I would have insisted on expanded genetic testing from the beginning (new RE did it and caught the thrombophilia that other 2 RE’s missed). That you really can have heavy spotting and still be pregnant. And how hard it would be to actually be pregnant & full of worry for 9 months - That it is all worth it in the end

HPT before blood test: Yep

Wow what is there to say that hasn’t already been said, but infertility sucks and for me the depression associated with the months and months of failure was a lot to take on. But we had the most awesome result: we had IVF and they put in ONE egg, then at 6 weeks we had a ultrasound and there was TWO babies. After checking the left over embryos and folical counts from our ultrasounds the doctors were amazed, and so were we. Our fertility doctor said he had never scene this in all his 34 years of treatments. Now I have my beautiful twins and an incredible story to tell.
