Hello All!

I’m new to the forums and I just wanted to introduce myself. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 14, luckily I have an awesome ob/gyn who was able to diagnose me early. When I first got engaged in 2005, my fiance and I really wanted to TTC so my doc put me on Metformin 850mg twice a day and Femara 2.5 mg cd 5-9. We conceived but also miscarried. The relationship when downhill from there. 5 years later I’m now with someone else. He already has a daughter from a previous marriage but we want one of our own . My doc started me on the Metformin/Femara again but now has me taking the metformin 3 times a day instead of two. started charting again last month and hoping for a :bfp: this cycle. just hoping to get some support from other women who are going through the same thing…

:babydust: for everyone!!!

New to forums too!

Hi Im New too. Just got married in August and DH and I have not, not TTC our 2 year relationship, Actively TTC since July '10. I was on BC since I was 14 so i never knew I had an issue til I got off of it 2 years ago. End of last month I was diagnosed with “mild” (according to the GYN) PCOS and recurrent Hemorrhagic cysts. I just started the first cycle with Metformin 500mg two times per day and I just finished Femara 5mg that I took CD5-9. I am having no monitoring except for a progesterone check on CD21. But today is CD10, I cheated (I am an ultrasound tech) and checked my ovaries and I have 4 follies that are 14 mm each on the right!! :woohoo: This is the first time ever that Ive had follies that big that wernt “cysts”. My ENDO looks thinner than it usually does too… Is that supposed to happen? DH already has an 18 month old son and we want another child togther. I really hope this works!
:bsv: to everyone!!

:welcome: to the both of you. I’m fairly new as well. I’ve been more of a lurker than a poster but that’s changed. This website is a great group of supportive and knowledgeable women.

yeah, I’m not really being monitored either. Haven’t been referred to a specialist, just have my ob/gyn. I think he just wants us to try like this for a couple cycles before he sends me to someone else. I’m the youngest of 2 sisters and have 7 nieces and nephew, all but one he delivered. I know he wants me to conceive as much as I want to… maybe more! lol. I’m on cd 25 now and 6 dpo… just waiting til test day! I swear it couldn’t come any slower! I use Fertility Friend for my charting and it seems like a really great site too, if you guys haven’t checked it out you should! :cross: for this cycle. and :babydust: for both of you!!! It’s nice to not be alone in this, so I’m here for you for support and anything else!

Don’t worry dear,
Accident happen once in life and this time the same thing will not happen…
Just do it,
Medicine is good and if doc is preferring it then there must be a reason…
And most important,
You need to try someday, then why not today ??
good luck…

side effects of Femara?

Has anyone had problems taking femara? I am on 5 mg CD 3-7 and on CD6 last night began having diarrhea, and chills. This morning is better but still feel weak. i’m not sure if this is just a virus or has something to do with the medication. I will call my Doctor this morning and let him know, but I was just curious if anyone else has had any side-effects from taking it. I was reading about ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and it said that you can have diarrhea, shortness of breath, and bloating-which I have also experienced. So maybe this means it is working??
