Out-of-pocket expenses incurred with infertility medical treatment

#1

I am not sure if anyone saw this. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (NY) for introducing a bill in the U.S. Senate that would provide eligible taxpayers a tax credit for the out-of-pocket expenses incurred with infertility medical treatment.

If you are interested, Resolve has a link that will send a letter to your senators (https://secure2.convio.net/res/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=351). It takes about 30 seconds to fill out. I did it for our two senators in Hawaii. We are looking for senators that can co-sponsor.

[]The Family Act has a cost sharing provision allowing 50% of all applicable medical expenses to be covered up to a lifetime maximum of $13,360. You would need to have out-of-pocket costs totaling $26,720 to claim the entire credit in your lifetime.

Low-cost fertility clinics may offer a less expensive IVF treatment, an enticement for budget-conscious patients, especially those who have already exhausted their insurance coverage and savings, but the cheapest treatment is not always the best option. Poor practice methods may result in a low success rate and wind up costing couples more money for multiple cycles in order to achieve a healthy pregnancy. It’s important to research treatment centers and go in for consultations to make sure the clinic is right for you. You can locate fertility clinics, learn about the services and their success rate. Those who do not qualify for a grant or scholarship, or those who may already have incurred debt for previous IVF cycles and don’t want to take out another loan, should consider borrowing money from friends and family. Otherwise, setting up a fundraiser through sites such as GoFundMe.com, the world’s largest social fundraising platform, which has a page specifically designed for IVF crowdfunding campaigns, is another option for raising money. I knew all these during my treatments in Bio tex. Most often, the fertility clinic will be able to walk you through the various options available, such as taking out a loan or applying for a grant or scholarship. For instance, several nonprofit organizations provide financial assistance to select infertility patients and you can find a list of options along with application instructions and requirements

Our clinic offers the following ivf packages. I truly believe it’s possible to find suitable one for everyone’s pocket. Bio Tex Com provides 1 IVF cycle for EUR 4,900. 2 cycles for EUR 6,900 (EUR 3,450 per cycle). 5 cycles for EUR 9,900 (EUR 1,980 per cycle). It is incredibly cheaper than average cost for ivf cycle elsewhere! All of the packages include donor eggs, all medications, transfer from/to the airport and from/to the clinic, accommodation, meals, interpreter services.
Here are their surrogacy services. All inclusive surrogacy package €39900:
You are provided a cellphone with a Ukrainian carrier for communication.
You stay at a villa or hotel.
A pediatrician sees your child every other day after birth.
Regardless of how far along the surrogate is, if the case of miscarriage, abortion, or death of child, the agency will take care of the cost of paying the surrogate and finding a new one.
In case your baby is born premature, the agency will pay all medical fees regardless.
If you have twins, you must pay an additional €3000 after birth.
You have 4 hours of nursery and babysitting services available to you every day.
You cannot be at the birth of the baby – you will be able to meet your baby after the hospital clears the baby for leaving the hospital.
All inclusive vip surrogacy €49900:

You’ll receive a Newborn Package that includes all the things you’ll need when you start to take care of the baby.
You will receive PGD services, which helps eliminate poor embryos and also allows for gender selection.
A pediatrician will see your child every day, and there is also a 24/7 hotline for English-speaking Pediatricians, who can come visit you at any time if necessary.
Regardless of how far along the surrogate is, if the case of miscarriage, abortion, or death of child, the agency will take care of the cost of paying the surrogate and finding a new one.
In case your baby is born premature, the agency will pay all medical fees regardless.
If you have twins, there is no additional fee.
You will have 9am – 6pm nursery and babysitting services available to you every day.
You may attend the birth of your baby.
Of course different clinics offer different services for various costs. I’m judging here from own experiences only. Hope this helps.

Well I agree with you some time people think that Infertility treatments are costly and they are looking for some low cost treatments. But if they took wrong step then they lose their money as well as time and lots of things. So in that case I mus want to suggest you that if anyone looking for the infertility treatments than they should check out their infertility treatment centre previous results and doctors experience in the Infertility treatment. Some time people got stuck with the unworthy clinics because cheapest treatments are not always so worthy. Poor practice methods may result in a low success rate and that increases the costing couples for multiple cycles for a healthy pregnancy. So If you are going for the treatment than its better to check all the details about clinic carefully. Many patients from all over the world go for IVF In India there is so many IVF treatment centre. One of them reputed IVF treatment centre is Sofat Infertility centre . They provide all IVF treatments in India with the highest success rate.

Quite often the patients might need donor eggs for the ivf. Certainly the choice of the egg donor is the most important step for intended parents who need woman’s genetic material. Nature is a multi-faceted thing, and the main expert’s task of reproductive medicine clinic is to anticipate it and predict the outcome. In the clinic we’re currently with (bio tex com, Ukraine), they developed a unique method of 3D modeling appearance of a child! They use a three-dimensional model of the donor and the child’s father. So how does this happen? To begin with, each donor is fixed in the photo and video with the help of special 3D technology. So you may see a woman from all sides, zooming in and out the image. On the basis of this material, an anthropometric and physiognomic portrait of the woman is created. Then her basic characteristics are digitized. After receiving the same data about the future father they can be superimposed on each other and predict the possible appearance of a child. In addition, the other data, such as the IQ of the donor, education, abilities, inclinations and state of health down to small details (Like dental health), temperament and character traits are also calculated. The history of the family is also explored. (Parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters etc.) Questions about existing child donor are also asked. It is important if the donor base is huge. This way you can have more options and choices to make. You can choose the features that are inherent to you or those which you have dreamed of for a long time and which you would like to see in your child.

Hey all! I’m dropping in. IVF is meant to be the most effective form of ART. The procedure can be done using your own eggs and your partner’s sperm. Or IVF may involve eggs, sperm or embryos from a known or anonymous donor. In some cases, a gestational carrier may be used.
Your chances of having a healthy baby using IVF depend on many factors. Such as your age and the cause of infertility. We all know that IVF can be time-consuming, expensive and invasive. A good doctor will definitely help you to understand how IVF works. He’ll warn you of the potential risks and whether this method of treating infertility is right for you. Sometimes IVF is offered as a primary treatment for infertility in women over age 40. IVF can also be done if you have certain health conditions. Those are the general things though. And want or not, it’s almost always sth about money fees. We all want our treatment options to be well ballanced. Meaning costs and services cooperate just effectively. This helps us to have at least our minds at ‘financial ease’. Our clinic for example, has the following package costs. It provides 1 IVF cycle for EUR 4,900. 2 cycles for EUR 6,900 (EUR 3,450 per cycle). 5 cycles for EUR 9,900 (EUR 1,980 per cycle). It is incredibly cheaper than average cost for cycle in Ukraine! All of the packages include donor eggs, all medications, transfer from/to the airport and from/to the clinic, accommodation, meals, interpreter services. The package of 5 shots makes the situation a win-win one. You have 5 shots to conceive. If no luck after those 5 shots in a row – they refund all money paid! The point is that they’ll keep on trying unless are successful, regardless how many shots it will take.
I believe everyone can make IVF treatment affordable for him. You should just do a good research on the clinics offering those ‘‘guaranteed’’ plans. Sometimes it IS MUCH CHEAPER to move abroad for teatments! Just get well informed. Good luck!!

After much gleaning in forums, it became clear that Ukraine was our best choice. First, it is relatively affordable, with all-inclusive plans starting at 32k up to 50k, which covers absolutely everything outside of your plane tickets, such as transportation, food, accommodations, all things that involve IVF for you if you are using your own eggs, surrogate screening and medical costs, and birth at the hospital. It is also the same price if you choose to use donor eggs instead, which is a nice back-up plan to have if things don’t work out with your own, at no additional cost. This blew us away, because we hadn’t seen this kind of all-inclusive plan anywhere else, and the best part about it is that they guarantee you a baby, because if the first surrogate doesn’t work out, they will try again with another using your frozen embryos until they are successful. We have encountered other couples who chose Ukraine purely for the guarantee factor of a baby, which can sound strange to some, but for us, it was like music to our ears! Also, it seems like Ukraine is one of the few places where the laws favor the intended parents rather than the surrogate. Under Ukrainian law, the baby is ours from the moment of conception. Once the baby is born, the birth certificate is issued with our names, and the surrogate cannot claim any rights. Lastly, we could rest with the thought that time-wise, pregnancy could start right after embryos are created, as many women participate in surrogacy in Ukraine. Everyone that we had spoken to had been successful with the first try, if not the second, so that was very appealing to us, as we had also considered adoption at one point, but knew from family members that it could take quite some time for that to happen as well.

Ukrainian law allows egg donation, although egg donors must remain completely anonymous. This means that neither the donor nor the intended parents can get to know each other, including seeing pictures or in person.
Moreover, the legislation on ART practice in Ukraine allows the use of PGD with gender selection to choose the sex of the baby. Doing it by means of PGD means that it is carried out prior to the embryo transfer to the surrogate’s womb.
It should be noted that using PGD for the determination of the embryo’s sex is permitted only to prevent an inherited condition related to the child’s sex.
It is important to keep in mind that the law allows embryo donation and sperm donation, too. However, as we have mentioned above, at least the intended father must provide his DNA for the creation of the embryo in surrogacy arrangements.

I’ll add a couple of facts:
Canada: Getting any type of financial benefit for being a surrogate is a crime. However, surrogates can be compensated for the expenses derived from pregnancy, although to a maximum amount of $22k.
Australia: Commercial surrogacy is a crime as well, and may be punishable by up to two years imprisonment plus a fine of $110k for intended parents.
US states of Nevada, Virginia, and Washington: The three of them allow surrogates to get an economic compensation for the expenses derived from the process. Any contract of commercial surrogacy will be automatically void.
Brazil: Surrogacy is allowed in this country, but surrogate mothers must be an immediate family member (e.g. mother, sister, or daughter of the prospective surrogate).
Common expenses you are likely to be compensated for include: medical expenses derived from IVF and those linked to pregnancy (ultrasound scan, visits to the clinic…), dietary supplements (if necessary), lost work hours, maternity clothing, etc.
Ukraine seems to have the best options for the IP, doesn’t it?
