#1

Does anyone have experience with IUI with DR. Ku in Frisco, TX or have any other experiences with RE in this area…either good or bad? Would be interested in hearing what you think! Thanks!!

Hi HOLLYGENESIS! I donot have any experience with Dr. Ku, I am actually seeing Dr. Barnett. He was highly recommended. I know that he is all business and to the point but he isn’t uncaring. I recommend him. I’ve seen Dr. Ku interact with patients and he seems to be very nice . I am currently waiting for :af: so I can schedule my. Ultrasound and blood draw so I can start my stims for IVF. :cross:

Hi Jam! How nice to meet someone who is going to the same clinic! Some ladies on the IVF board highly recommend dr. Ku which is why I went with him. My other option is Dr. Goldstein. If we have to go on to IVf I an definitely going to have a consult I think. He just built a new lab at Baylor Frisco. We will see what Dr. Ku says tomorrow. Kinda nervous but excited to hear what he has to say about what options we have.

Good luck with your IVF cycle! I am sending you LOADS of :babydust: !! Will you be joint the ladies over on the IVF board? If so I will look for your updates over there. I sure hope this cycle is a :bfp: For ya!!:cross: :cross: :cross: Keep me updated!

HollyGenesis-good luck tomorrow. Who knows we might cross paths tomorrow if I have to go in. I haven’t heard about Dr. Goldstein but I have heard of a doctor in Colorado who helped an acquaintance get :preg: when dr b insisted she use donor eggs because she was a poor responder. She just had her baby girl last week. If I don’t get my :bfp: I am thinking of going to Colorado or getting in a clinical trial.

I am in the November IVF board…what board are you in? I would like to be your Infertility support buddy since we maybe getting treatment at the same clinic if u like Dr Ku:)

I am stressing right now cuz :af: hasn’t made her appearance and I’m due today. My mensies comes like clock work…what if she doesn’t come or she comes too late and I have to postpone my cycle :grr:
Oops!! Sorry I just had to vent my anxiety. Best of luck tomorrow and let me know what dr Ku says.:babydust:

I am here for you support buddy!! :flower: So the appointment today with Dr. Ku went pretty well I guess. I do like him. He is very nice and my DH loves him! He is going to have me come in on Friday and do one of the saline sonograms and DH has to do another sperm analysis this week. He said if DH can get his sperm count up them we will try an IUI with injectibles…if not we will have to go right to IVF. SO we will see! I am a high school teacher in McKinney so I am already worried about the time off IVF will require but oh well. Having babies is more important!!

Dr. Goldstein was with a place in Dallas and just opened his new clinic at Baylor Frisco. I read somewhere he was charging $6100 for an IVF cycle which is cheaper than what I had seen at other clinics. I am not sure what Dr. B and Dr Ku charge, we did not get that far today. My OBGYN Dr. Hartley was telling me that the Center for Assisted Reproduction usually has some trials that people can get in on. But this is going to be your cycle so you wont need those!! :cross: Did :af: show today? I would think this is a normal thing to wait on AF so I bet you will not have to postpone. Try not to stress too much (yea right I know!). :grouphug: Is Dr. B having you use BCP? This is your month so keep those positive thoughts going!! Let me know how it is going!!

Hey Holly…glad to hear your appt. went fairly well. Who is your dh urologist… My dh sees dr. Bush who we absolutely love. I wish he was my doc. I’ll keep my :cross: :cross: that you get a :bfp: with IUI…I wish that could have been a choice but with my age & dh low motility that was not possible…cost for IVF is about ~8,000 not including meds which mine were $3,600. Does your insurance cover infertility treatment? Mine does not.

Well :af: hasn’t come to visit yet. Let me know if I can be of help to you. If you have to do IVF, i’ll be there for support and insight to the process.

My work has been very understanding since they know how much I want to be a mom. I work for an animal ophthalmologist as the Reg. Vet. Tech.

Oh, by the way Dr. B did not put me on BCP. I think it’s because of my age.

Hi Jam! How is it going? Did :af: Show up today? Sure hope so! I was thinking about you!

We are paying all out of pocket. I have my insurance through McKinney isd which is through the state of tx so there is no way they would actually have fertility coverage! Dr. buch was the one that Dr. ku recommend DH sees based on thurs results so we may definitely be seeing him. It is good to know he comes highly recommended! My understanding from what I have read on here is that not having the BCP is a good thing so that is good!

How nice that you get to work with dogs! Our Boston Terrier scratched her eye on some grass last Spring and I thought we were going to have to come see a specialist! It was awful! She had to wear an elizabethean collar for 3 months and hated it. That is so awesome that your work is so understanding! I bet that makes it so much easier!

How was the saline sonogram? Having one Friday and expecting it to be pretty easy.

Hope you bare having a good week and are getting the ball rolling on this round!!:babydust: There is at least one person here In Frisco sending tons of positive energy your way! :flower:

Hi Holly! :af: Has not come and I’m an emotional mess. My dh says I need to stop stressing & it will come. If it doesn’t visit me by next week I’m gonna call.

As for the saline sonogram, it was ok except having to get dilated was a little ouchie. I think the most uncomfortable procedure has been the mock transfer with full bladder…I think I prefer pain to the potential embarrassing “wee wee in my pants”…lol!

I’m glad your Boston didn’t need to see us cuz then that would have meant that the scratched eye was now a surgical eye:-)

Happy hump day!!! I’m happy your having your saline ultrasound on Friday becuz that means that’s one test closer to finding out what your next step is. Let me know how the ultrasound was. You & dh are in my thoughts & prayers…:grouphug: :babydust:

Hey JAM! Just was thinking about you and wondering if :af: has showed up yet? Hope so and that you are able to get your cycle started! I was up at the clinic today and wondered if one of the women there was you! :flower: Yay! I am so glad it is the weekend!!

#10

Hi Holly! How was your sonogram? :af: hasnt shown so I called and spoke to a nurse who said that if it didn’t come by Monday to call & they’d give me something to make it come. I’m concerned about taking medications to make me menstruate. So my dh & I have decided to see if it comes next month before taking meds. Enough about me…so what’s did dr k say was your next step?

Positive thoughts & :babydust: . Have a great weekend:grouphug:

#11

Darn it! So sorry :af: is being so stubborn!!! I understand what you mean about not wanting to take meds to start it though.

You were right, the saline u/s was not big deal. Barely felt it at all and Dr k said everything looks all good. He also gave me DH’s sperm analysis and he went from a total of 6 million to 60 million! I was in shock and and so excited about that. I have been doing tons of research and put him all these vitamins and royal jelly so I guess that all helped. The last one could have been a bit of a fluke as well. We will go back on the 16th to talk about whether to do IUI or IVF next cycle. I am glad that we will at least have the option to do an IUI now but with the LP issues and I still need to work on my TSH level with the endocrinologist so we will see what Dr. Ku recommends.

Hope you have a good weekend and try not to stress to much about AF although I know it is hard! :grouphug:

Hey holly, great to hear about dh’ swimmers:cheer: What supplements is he taking and how long has he been on them?

#13

One of my best friends just got pregnant on second IUI with a doctor in Richardson. (I am in Kansas but just moved here after 10 years in Dallas). She loved her doctor. I can get his name if you like.

#14

Hey JAM! How was your weekend? Any showing of :af: yet?? Can you just start your cycle whenever or does she have to be here by Monday?

DH is taking Mens Ultra Centrum, Fish Oil 1000mg CoQ10 100 mg, Vitamin C 1000mg, Royal Jelly 1000mg. He is taking the tablet form of Royal Jelly and I am taking the pure royal jelly in honey 1 tsp a day. Something in this mix seemed to have helped. He has also cut out alcohol completely which for the most part is not a big deal…but he is Australian and they love their beer so it hasn’t been all easy! :woohoo:

Hey Michelle! Thanks!! Hmm…I not sure who she would be with because my research never showed a doctor, or at least an RE, in Richardson but that is awesome for her!! :cheer: It is nice to hear of an IUI working!!! Sending her lots of :bsv: !

Hey Holly:-) :af: did not show:grr: I will call Dr. B tomorrow and we’ll see. I really needed :af: to arrive Monday so I could start stims and have ET on or before Nov.24th because of the holiday.

How long have you and dh been on the supplements & where do you get the royal jelly?

Have a great week:grouphug: :flower:

I’ll let you know what Dr B says tomorrow.

Thanksgiving holiday, I did not think about that. I hope you feel better after talking to the dr today and that you do not have to put it off another month!:grouphug: Did he have a possible reason you are so late? I am so sorry! I am thinking about you!

He started the vitamins about 3 months ago. The royal jelly only for about 2 months. The first thing of royal jelly I got was the pure stuff from Whole Foods that has to be refrigerated. It did not taste good but we could get it down. Then he found some in pill form at Market Street. I can’t get him to take the liquid kind anymore so he does the pill form and I moved to the royal jelly in honey also at Market Street. The RJ in honey taste pretty good but very sweet. I think both are made by YS Organics. They have some with Bee Pollen but that stuff was NASTY and I wont even take it so we are sticking to this for the time being! Hopefully it will help! :cross:

Well I’m going to start on Provera for 10days then :af: should show the week of my last pill or the next. I was told I had to start my stims by nov. 27th or I would have to wait til Jan. 2011:grr: As for missed period, probably due to stress?!?!?! All I know is that I’m tired of the cramps, lower back pain & now am bloated:grr:

I will have to find a market street so I can get the RJ’s.

Have a great week… good vibes headed your way:-)

What’s the next step for you? IUI?

I wish I had some good relaxation advice for you! I could use some myself! I feel like all I ever do is wait with infertility. That is good you got the meds to help things along. You could think about this way, maybe your bodybis letting you know it needs a little more time. I know it is so frustrating though but remember…you will get that :bfp: Eventually! Believe :flower:

We see Dr K Tuesday to talk about iui vs ivf. I didn’t think about the holidays throwing such a wrench in everything so I hope we can maybe get in one or the other by Nov 27!

Thinking about you sweetie and hope you are having a good week! :grouphug:

Hey Holly, Sorry it took me a while to reply. I’ve had the mother of all migraines…guess it is due to the Provera. For some reason, today, I feel at peace. Which is weird for me lately. Maybe too many migraine meds…lol

As for Tuesday when lyou go see Dr. K, if he gives you both options of IUI or IVF as him about success rates for you. I know that IUI’s are less invasive than IVF. Also, do me a favor and ask what their holiday hours are. I’m just concerned that if I get started on one of my blood draw and Ultrasounds end up on a weekend, thanksgiving day or the day after. The nurse didn’t mention anything but said as long as I started the process by Nov. 27 which is odd because it is on a Sunday. Oh well…

Have a great weekend.!!! I am practincing positive thinking and am visualizing both of us a baby in our arms next year…:babydust: :grouphug:
