RE in Michigan?

#1

Hello. I’m 32 and was recently diagnosed with high fsh and low AMH. I’m looking for a clinic in Michigan to do ivf at. Any experiences?

Hi Erin_Mac! My RE, Dr. Dodds, is out of Grand Rapids, and has anther office in Kalamazoo. Even though I haven’t gotten pregnat, he is wonderful. I’m the exception to the rule, due to other medical issues. There is a clinic at Wayne State that has great success rates as well. Will this be your first IVF? Good luck!

Hi Roxy

Thanks for answering. This would be my first IVF. I probably only have one shot so I’m trying to find a clinic and doctor that has experience with my condition. I’ll check out both of your suggestions. Thank you again!

Hi Erin -

I second everything Roxey said - the Fertility Center is great and they have offices in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Traverse City and Lansing.

I did not get pregnant after 2 rounds of IVF but I am also an exception to the rule. Their success rates are 2nd best in the state. You can view them here: SART: IVF Success Rates

Dodds and Young are great as is all the staff!!

Good luck on your journey to motherhood!! And whatever you do, don’t give up hope. After 2 failed IVF cycles I was told donor eggs was my only option and I only had a 3% chance of conceiving naturally. After 3 months of being matched with a donor, I conceived naturally just days before starting my 3rd cycle with donor eggs.

Congrats to you Hopeful! What an amazing surprise. And thank you for your reply.

Erin, Hopeful4Bunny is right. Their staff is beyond amazing. It’s very important to like the staff. You’ll be seeing a lot of them as well. Are you all out of pocket? I am and was able to get free meds for my IVF cycle. My IVF nurse coordinator helped me with that.

PS: Every time I hear Hopeful4Bunny’s story I get chills!

Erin-I also went to The Fertility Center (Grand Rapids location) and I loved it there. The doctors (and the whole staff, for that matter) are very genuine and compassionate, and I felt very comfortable that they were doing the best they could for me. I don’t know what kind of experience they have with high FSH and low AMH, but they are having a free seminar on January 19, and if you attend you get a voucher for a free consult with one of the RE’s. I highly recommend going, at least to get an idea of what they do, and you can probably talk to the RE who is doing the presentation afterwards. Here is the info if you are interested: FREE SEMINARS | The Fertility Center - Michigan’s Infertility Specialists

This might help… SART: IVF Success Rates

If you click on the state and then a clinic name, you can access their ART data report and see their stats, and you can also filter them by diagnosis.

Hey Erin! I live more in the Southeast part of the state and have been to both Gago Center for IF in Brighton and just started at Wayne State. I switched mainly due to financial reasons. I truly thought my first RE in Brighton knew her stuff but her cycles are just more pricey than Wayne State and Wayne State has higher success rates for women in my age group. I am yet to actually cycle there but hope to complete a cycle in January or February. Good luck!
