I am 29 years old and I had 2 chemical pregnancies 2 months apart of each other. Should I be concerned or should I continue to try for a third?
Brief history on me: I opted for an abortion 7 yrs ago at 10 wks. I did not experience any problems with that pregnancy. I was just too young and it was an unwanted pregnancy. The pregnancy was ended by a vacuum aspiration. No complications afterwards and I returned to my normal menstrual cycle (7 days long) within 4 weeks of the procedure.
Now I decided to have a child and I have been trying to conceive for 4 months. The 2nd and 4th month I had a chemical pregnancy. My normal menstrual cycle is 28 days. When I got pregnant during the 2nd and 4th month of TTC, both times I ovulated on CD15. On 15 DPO both pregnancies ended (got menstrual bleeding). I tested positive for hcg on DPO 13 for both pregnancies, but on DPO 15, both pregnancies end and I no longer test positive.
What are some possible causes for this? Is this most likely a chromosonal abnormality or something else such as: hormonal imbalance, thin uterine lining, abnormality with the uterus?
Has anyone experienced recurrent chemical pregnancies? Is it still possible to have a full term pregnancy without any medical intervention?
TIA for your feedback!
