Weird Sensation On Right Side

#1

Hi Everyone,

I have this weird sensation, sometimes like a numbing/tingling feeling, and sometimes like a bruised feeling - on my right side…kind of in between the right chest by the ribs and the right breast. Sometimes when I press on it, it will feel tender as if there is a bruise. I’ve looked and triple looked in the mirror and there are no bruises present there. I was wondering if this is normal and if anyone else have experienced this.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I don’t know how far along you are, but it could be the baby pushing on something up in that area. Maybe it caused a internal bruise that you can’t see. I would call your OB about it to see what he/she says but I am sure it is nothing to worry about.

I’m 29 weeks along now. Sometimes it feels like a sharp pinch. I am suspecting that it is a pinched nerve or the baby is sitting on a nerve.

I keep forgetting to ask my OB every time I’m at the office.

Hey be careful googling! My og/gyn and RE both said they wish patients wouldn’t google and would just call! :^) Having stressed myself out a hundred times with googling, just be assured that it most likely is your child pushing into a nerve or organ and causing discomfort, their head or rear might be in a funky position. I

With my first child, I know I had a pretty big fibroid on my uterus and it was incredibly painful whenever the baby kicked or rested against that particular side, it wasn’t dangerous or anything, just really uncomfortable and late in the pregnancy you could almost feel the fibroid through my tummy! It went away oddly enough but boy, was it uncomfortable.

So besides your baby just pushing on you funny, that might be it. Or maybe some funky trapped gas, which always gets to be fun at end of pregnancy.

Thanks! I appreciate the reminder about googling! I’ve definitely been there so I know exactly what you mean when you mentioned stressful!

I’ll bring it up to my OB at my appt next week.
